The articles in this section of the website occurred before passage of the Life of the Mother Act. These articles made clear how urgently the law was needed and led to the formation of Texas Campaign for Mothers. While we hope and pray the Life of the Mother Act will positively impact the data highlighted below, achieving that goal requires that physicians understand the law and that women facing pregnancy emergencies are aware of their rights so they can advocate for timely care.
We have chosen to keep these articles available even after passage of the Life of the Mother Act to reinforce the importance of ensuring all physicians understand that the law allows them to provide necessary treatment without delay for women experiencing pregnancy emergencies.
Texas Campaign for Mothers continues to work to educate physicians about the Life of the Mother Act. We have also launched a public awareness campaign, Asking for a Mom, [LINK TO WEBSITE] to help women who experience pregnancy complications understand their rights under the law.
We hope you will visit the campaign website [LINK TO WEBSITE] and share it broadly.
